An email delivery setup can exist even when its matching Sendar workspace record is missing. Previously, adding that domain could misleadingly report that another account was using it. Domain setup now distinguishes this situation from a domain actually registered to another workspace.
Prove ownership and reconnect
On the Domains page, add your domain. If an existing provider setup needs recovery, choose Get ownership TXT record. Publish the exact additional TXT record at the displayed host, then choose Verify ownership and reconnect. Keep your existing DKIM, SPF, MX and website records unchanged.
The challenge expires after 24 hours and belongs to the signed-in account and workspace that requested it. DNS propagation may take time. After recovery succeeds, the extra ownership TXT record can be removed. Delivery readiness is still determined by the provider's DKIM status; completing recovery alone does not guarantee inbox delivery.
Existing workspaces stay protected
Recovery does not transfer a domain already registered to another Sendar workspace. Contact support for those cases. Starting recovery does not reserve a domain or grant permission to send. Normal plan limits apply when the domain is attached.
Repeated requests for a domain already in your own workspace now return that existing setup. Existing provider-only domains, including unfinished setups, are no longer automatically deleted during registration. Setups without usable DKIM records require support rather than destructive recreation.
If verification does not complete
Check that the TXT value is copied in full and that the provider has not appended your domain twice to the record name. The ownership record is separate from SPF: do not replace your existing SPF TXT record with the recovery value. If the request expires, start recovery again and publish the new value. Use the same signed-in account and workspace throughout the process. A successful return from your DNS provider is not proof that the record is publicly visible; Sendar performs its own DNS lookup before attaching the domain.
