Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones Sendar uses on sendar.app, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things between page loads and visits — most importantly, that you are signed in. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are "first-party" cookies; cookies set by other services embedded in a page are "third-party" cookies.

2. How Sendar Uses Cookies

We keep it minimal. Sendar uses cookies for exactly one first-party purpose: keeping you signed in to your account.

  • No advertising cookies.
  • No cross-site tracking.
  • No third-party analytics cookies.

Our first-party sign-in cookie is necessary for authentication. The small notice shown on your first visit is informational — dismissing it is remembered in your browser's local storage (a saved preference, not another cookie).

3. Other Browser Storage

Our first-party website measurement uses a random visit identifier in session storage to connect page views and signup attribution within a browser visit. Campaign parameters and referring-site origins may be associated with that identifier. We also use local storage for preferences such as dismissing the cookie notice and excluding an internal browser from analytics. These storage mechanisms are distinct from the sign-in cookie. See our Privacy Policy for how measurement information is used.

4. The Cookie We Set

Name
sendar.sid
Type
First-party, strictly necessary (essential)
Purpose
Identifies your signed-in session so the dashboard and API know it's you. Without it, signing in is impossible.
Properties
HttpOnly (not readable by page scripts), cryptographically signed, sent only to sendar.app.
Duration
Expires after a period of inactivity or when you sign out; signing out, changing your password, or deleting your account invalidates the session on our servers as well.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Two optional flows embed third-party services that may set their own cookies, under their own privacy policies:

  • PayPal — when you open the checkout to pay for a plan, the secure card fields are PayPal iframes, and PayPal may set cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing.
  • Google — if you choose "Sign in with Google", Google's sign-in flow may set cookies as part of authenticating you.

We do not control these cookies. If you never use checkout or Google sign-in, these services are not loaded.

6. Managing Cookies

Your browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies — check its privacy or site-settings section. Two things to know:

  • Blocking or deleting the sendar.sid cookie signs you out and makes it impossible to stay signed in — the Service cannot work without it.
  • Because we do not track you across sites, we do not respond differently to "Do Not Track" signals — there is no tracking to turn off.

7. Changes and Contact

If we ever add cookies (for example, first-party analytics), we will update this page and the "Last updated" date before doing so, and seek consent where the law requires it. Questions? Contact privacy@sendar.app.
